What is the range of the 2025 R1S?
Range figures apply to particular configurations, not to every R1S. Edmunds lists an EPA range of 258 miles for its Dual Standard listing, which has a 92.5-kWh battery. Car and Driver reports up to 410 miles for the longest-range version; that maximum should not be assumed for every battery, wheel or configuration.

Rivian’s 2025 Owner’s Guide explains that “The range estimate in the driver display is calculated based on your vehicle configuration and your driving history in each drive mode.” Driving conditions and vehicle setup therefore affect the range estimate a driver sees. How much can a Rivian R1S tow?
Rivian’s product overview and Autoblog’s 2025 coverage both report a maximum tow rating of 7,700 pounds. Check the specific vehicle’s equipment, hitch setup, payload and applicable towing requirements before towing; the maximum is not a substitute for verifying the limits of the vehicle and trailer.

Ground clearance and off-road use
Published maximum ground-clearance figures differ: Autoblog reports up to 14.7 inches, while Car and Driver reports 15 inches. These are source-attributed maximums, not fixed clearance at every ride height or configuration. Ride height and equipment matter when comparing off-road capability, so confirm the specification for the exact vehicle.
How long does it take to charge a 2025 R1S at home?
Edmunds lists a 9.5-hour 240V home-charging time for its Dual Standard listing. That is an estimate for that listing, not a guarantee for every home’s electrical supply or charging setup. Rivian’s June 2022 article says its Wall Charger adds about 25 miles of range per hour at 11.5 kW; this is older, general home-charging context, not a tested 2025 configuration result.
