Canal+’s French event coverage listed the MotoGP grid at 1:15 p.m. local time, the race at 2:00 p.m. and the podium at 2:45 p.m. Daylight-saving rules can make conversions appear different in other countries, so the 2:00 p.m. French start was the best reference for the race itself.
How the 2025 French GP was shown in the United States
FOX Sports was the U.S. MotoGP broadcaster for the 2025 season. The French Grand Prix and its Sprint were carried on either FS1 or FS2, while the Fox Sports app offered access to viewers with an eligible pay-TV or streaming-TV login.
That arrangement did not amount to a free U.S. broadcast. An antenna could not reliably receive FS1 or FS2, and downloading the Fox Sports app alone did not remove the authentication requirement. Because the 2025 race has already taken place, current readers should look for an officially licensed replay or archive through the official MotoGP race centre or the relevant rights holder rather than searching for a live FOX Sports feed.

Free legal streaming options that were available for the event
“Free” applied to the broadcaster’s home market, not worldwide access. These services were subject to national rights agreements, territory restrictions and, in some cases, account requirements. They should not be treated as universal free streams for U.S. viewers.

France: Canal+
Canal+ made the main MotoGP French Grand Prix free-to-air in France on May 11, 2025. The reported free portion included the 1:15 p.m. grid, the 2:00 p.m. race and the 2:45 p.m. podium in French local time. The Sprint also received a Canal+ and Canal+ Sport 360 simulcast.
This was a French-market offer tied to the 2025 event. It did not mean that the Canal+ stream was freely available worldwide, and it should not be assumed to remain available as a free replay.
Austria: ORF TVthek or Servus TV
Contemporary event coverage identified ORF TVthek and Servus TV as free Austrian viewing routes for the French GP. Commentary was in German, and a free account could be required. Availability was also potentially restricted to Austria by the broadcaster’s rights.
Belgium: RTBF Auvio
RTBF Auvio was identified as a Belgian free-coverage option with French commentary. Like the Austrian services, it depended on the broadcaster’s Belgian rights and geographic service area.

Can a VPN provide a free MotoGP French GP stream?
A VPN was not a substitute for broadcast rights. It could not guarantee access to Canal+, ORF TVthek, Servus TV or RTBF Auvio, and using one to access a territory-restricted stream could conflict with the broadcaster’s terms. The practical and legal answer depended on the service’s current rules, the viewer’s location and whether the event remained available.
Unauthorized sports-streaming sites were not a legitimate alternative. They commonly create malware, aggressive advertising, account-theft and copyright risks, and their feeds can disappear without warning.
What happened in the 2025 MotoGP French Grand Prix?
Johann Zarco won a chaotic wet-weather race for LCR Honda after changing conditions and tire choices repeatedly altered the order. Marc Márquez finished second, 19.907 seconds behind Zarco, and Fermín Aldeguer completed the podium in third.

Zarco became the first French premier-class rider to win the home French Grand Prix since Pierre Monneret in 1954, ending a 71-year wait. The result also made the 2025 Le Mans race a notable historical event rather than simply another round in the calendar.

What about the U.S. MotoGP Channel?
MotoGP announced a free, ad-supported 24/7 MotoGP Channel for the United States that launched on August 13, 2025. That launch came more than three months after the French Grand Prix ended on May 11, so it was not a live viewing option for the 2025 Le Mans race.
The channel may matter when researching later MotoGP coverage, but it should not be presented as proof that the 2025 French GP had a free U.S. live stream. For later rounds, check the current official MotoGP race centre, broadcaster listings and official MotoGP VideoPass or timing options directly. Availability, replay access, pricing and commercial terms can change.
