What is the 2025 Lexus UX 300h F SPORT Handling?
It is the sport-oriented version of Lexus’s small UX hybrid crossover. Lexus lists F SPORT Handling separately from F SPORT Design; the Handling grade builds on Design and adds an adaptive suspension, F SPORT cabin equipment, and a power rear door with a kick sensor. Lexus says the 2025 UX 300h hybrid system produces 196 total system horsepower, with the increase over the previous UX 250h attributed to a new hybrid transaxle and a lightweight lithium-ion battery. The F SPORT Handling’s Active Variable Suspension is intended, according to Lexus, to sharpen handling and stability while improving ride comfort. That describes the manufacturer’s goal; independent reviewers characterize the result as useful control and adjustability, not a transformation into a sports car.
How does the UX 300h drive?
In town, Edmunds describes the UX as smooth and responsive. Its instrumented test recorded 0–60 mph in 8.0 seconds. The reviewer found that the F SPORT Handling package did not make the car dramatically more fun, but noted excellent body control at freeway speeds from the adaptive shocks and a firmer ride. Car and Driver recorded 7.7 seconds to 60 mph in its tested front-wheel-drive UX 300h. It describes the car as nimble and easy to maneuver, with a quiet ride, and says the adaptive dampers add a useful adjustment without fundamentally changing the driving experience. Those acceleration figures come from different outlets and tested configurations, so they should not be collapsed into a single promise for every UX 300h. Taken together, the reviews point to an urban-friendly hybrid whose strengths are maneuverability, smooth everyday response, and body control rather than outright speed.

Is it really a Corolla hatchback dressed as an SUV?
Not literally. The title’s comparison captures the UX’s compact footprint and hatchback-like utility beneath crossover styling. Car and Driver suggests thinking of the UX as “more of a premium hatchback,” while Edmunds characterizes it as having “Corolla underpinnings.” Neither statement makes this specific UX a Corolla hatchback; the analogy is about its scale and practical trade-offs.
Rear seat
Edmunds says the rear seats are best suited to shorter trips and that larger child seats can be difficult to fit. If you regularly carry adults or need room to install a bulky child seat, check the actual seating position and fit before choosing the UX.

Cargo area
Edmunds reports 17.2 cubic feet of cargo volume and notes a high liftover height. That is a meaningful limitation for a vehicle styled as a crossover: bulky items may be harder to load, and the small cargo area leaves less room for luggage or everyday gear than a larger utility vehicle.
What fuel economy does the UX 300h get?
Published EPA estimates depend on drivetrain and source. Edmunds lists combined estimates; Car and Driver reports city and highway estimates. These are ratings, not observed mileage from a shared real-world test.

This trim makes the most sense for a buyer who wants a small, easy-to-maneuver luxury hybrid, appreciates F SPORT cabin details and adaptive suspension, and does not need generous rear-seat or cargo capacity. Its suspension hardware offers additional control and a firmer character, but the independent reviews do not describe it as a major performance upgrade.
