Is the 2025 Hyundai Palisade luxury at a budget price?
It depends on which trim you mean. The lower-priced versions deliver three-row family utility and a substantial feature set for a mainstream-brand SUV. The Limited and Calligraphy trims move closer to luxury territory with richer cabin materials and amenities, including available quilted leather, premium audio and captain’s chairs. Edmunds also highlights features such as ventilated second-row seats, heated third-row seats and a massaging driver’s seat; availability depends on trim and equipment.
That makes the Palisade a value alternative for shoppers who prioritize comfort and equipment over a luxury badge. It is not inexpensive across the board: a heavily equipped top trim costs considerably more than the entry model. Car and Driver likewise describes the upper trims as approaching luxury-SUV territory while the base trims emphasize family value.
What did the 2025 Palisade cost, and what changed by trim?
Hyundai’s listed U.S. starting MSRPs span $37,200 to $54,500. These are model-year starting prices; they do not include every drivetrain configuration, tax, fees, options, dealer pricing or incentives. AWD versions of some trims started higher, so compare vehicles with the same drivetrain and equipment rather than treating a trim’s base figure as the price of every example.

Edmunds reports that the SE has a second-row bench as standard, the SEL Premium offers one as an option, and the SEL, XRT, Limited, Calligraphy and Calligraphy Night use captain’s chairs and seat seven. Check the specific vehicle’s configuration rather than relying only on its trim name.
Is the Palisade comfortable in all three rows?
Space and comfort are major strengths. Edmunds gives the Palisade a 9.1/10 comfort rating and reports good room across the rows. Its caveat is practical: adults may find climbing into the third row difficult. For families who regularly carry seven or eight people, try the exact seating layout and have third-row passengers get in and out before choosing a vehicle.

Car and Driver’s Calligraphy drive around Asheville, North Carolina, found the ride smooth and the cabin quiet. Those are the publication’s observations, not a first-person test by CarCody. Premium-trim upholstery and comfort equipment can make the cabin feel substantially more upscale than the entry trim, but not every Palisade includes those features.
How does the 2025 Palisade drive?
Every 2025 Palisade uses a 3.8-liter V6 rated at 291 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard on most trims, with all-wheel drive available depending on trim. Car and Driver describes acceleration as adequate and the transmission as generally smooth, though it may shuffle ratios on hills. It characterizes the SUV as neither especially sporty nor particularly capable off-road.

Edmunds recorded 0–60 mph in 7.6 seconds in its test, an outlet-measured result rather than a Hyundai specification. The reviewer praised smooth shifts but was less impressed with handling and the soft initial brake-pedal feel. These impressions suggest a family-focused ride and powertrain rather than a performance-oriented one.
What fuel economy and towing can you expect?
Hyundai’s EPA estimates are 19 mpg city, 26 highway and 22 combined for FWD, or 19 city, 24 highway and 21 combined for AWD. Edmunds reports that its AWD evaluation vehicle matched the 21-mpg combined estimate on its route; actual fuel economy varies with conditions and driving. Hyundai did not offer a hybrid or plug-in hybrid version of the 2025 Palisade.

Hyundai lists Safe Exit Assist as standard across all trims. Highway Driving Assist is standard on SE, SEL and XRT; SEL Premium, Limited, Calligraphy and Calligraphy Night receive Highway Driving Assist 2, which Hyundai says adds assistance with lane changes. These are driver-assistance systems, not autonomous or hands-free driving features. Their presence does not remove the driver’s responsibility to monitor the road and remain in control.

How does it compare with alternatives?
The Palisade’s strongest comparison points are cabin comfort, available premium amenities, seating access, price by comparable configuration, fuel economy and towing equipment. Car and Driver describes the Mazda CX-90 as livelier and more responsive, and notes that the Jeep Grand Cherokee can tow more. Edmunds points shoppers seeking hybrid powertrains toward the Toyota Grand Highlander and calls the Kia Telluride a close corporate sibling. Those are reviewer comparisons; verify current trims, prices and equipment before making a purchase decision.
