The 2025 GMC Sierra EV Denali starts at $91,995 for the Extended Range trim or $100,495 for Max Range in GMC’s U.S. trim comparison—a difference of $8,500. GMC estimates 390 miles of range for the less expensive version and 460 miles for Max Range. The upgrade also raises listed peak DC fast-charging capability, but whether it is worth the premium depends on how often you need the extra estimated range and whether your routes offer suitable chargers.
How much does a 2025 GMC Sierra EV Denali cost?
GMC’s U.S. trim comparison lists these starting MSRPs for the 2025 Denali. The figures exclude optional equipment, taxes, title, license and dealer fees; actual dealer prices vary. GMC’s separate build page shows that configuring a truck can raise its total above the starting price.
| U.S. Denali trim | Starting MSRP | GMC estimated range | Published DC fast-charge capability |
|---|---|---|---|
| Extended Range | $91,995 | 390 miles | 800V, up to 300 kW |
| Max Range | $100,495 | 460 miles | 800V, up to 350 kW |

What does the Max Range premium buy?
The $8,500 gap in listed starting MSRP buys a different battery configuration, 70 miles more GMC-estimated range, and a higher listed peak DC fast-charge capability: up to 350 kW rather than up to 300 kW. Those are manufacturer-published estimates and capability figures, not promises about everyday range or charging speed.
#1 Best Overall
Max Range may be the more practical choice for drivers whose regular trips make the extra estimated range useful, especially when stops are inconvenient. Extended Range has the lower entry price and may suit drivers whose typical travel fits its estimated range and charging access. The value of either trim also depends on vehicle options, cargo and passenger load, driving conditions, and where you can charge.
How powerful is the Sierra EV Denali?
GMC advertises up to 760 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque in Max Power mode, along with a manufacturer-claimed 0–60 mph time under 4.5 seconds in that mode. These are GMC claims, not independent test results. GMC also describes four-wheel steering, including CrabWalk, and Air Ride Adaptive Suspension as available features; check the equipment on the specific truck.
How far can it go, and how fast does it charge?
Range estimates
GMC’s U.S. comparison estimates 390 miles for Extended Range and 460 miles for Max Range. These are estimates, not guaranteed everyday distances. Actual range depends on conditions and use, and the figures should not be treated as a prediction for every trip.
Public fast charging
GMC describes the Sierra EV as capable of 800-volt public DC fast charging and advertises roughly 100 miles of range in approximately 10 minutes. That is a manufacturer claim, not a fixed charging result. Charger output and availability, starting state of charge, battery condition and temperature, and vehicle settings all affect charging.

A truck’s peak charge capability does not ensure that a compatible high-output charger will be available on a particular route. GMC also identifies Level 2 home-charging options through GM Energy. Before choosing home equipment, verify the charger connector and vehicle compatibility, your electrical capacity, and installation requirements.
What can it tow—and why should buyers verify the rating?
GMC’s U.S. page gives two different maximum trailering figures: up to 10,500 lb in its standard-features listing and up to 10,000 lb in its capability section. Because those claims conflict, neither should be treated as the rating for every Denali. Check the trailering label and owner’s manual for the exact vehicle and intended trailer. The actual rating can depend on configuration, passengers, cargo and accessories.

How do the Canadian figures differ?
GM Canada’s October 15, 2024 announcement listed separate Canadian pricing and range estimates. These figures are for Canada and use Government of Canada test methods; they are not U.S. MSRPs or directly equivalent U.S. EPA estimates.
| Canadian trim | Announced MSRP | Announced all-in starting price | Estimated range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Extended Range | C$115,699 | C$118,599 | 628 km |
| Max Range | C$119,699 | C$122,599 | 740 km |
GM Canada said its all-in figures included specified fees and estimated luxury tax where applicable, with exclusions and regional variation. The announcement also cautioned that a specific vehicle’s trailering rating may vary with configuration, passengers, cargo and accessories. It noted that 350-kW public DC charging supply was extremely limited in Canada.
Is the 2025 Sierra EV Denali worth its price?
The Denali’s case rests on combining high advertised output with long manufacturer-estimated range, fast-charge capability, towing utility and premium equipment. Max Range costs $8,500 more at the listed U.S. starting prices, and its clearest stated advantages are the 70-mile higher range estimate and up-to-350-kW rather than up-to-300-kW peak DC charging capability. Buyers should weigh those advantages against their route patterns and local charging access, then price the actual vehicle and verify its towing rating and included equipment.
