The 2025 Ford F-350 Super Duty’s price, payload and towing capacity depend on its exact configuration—especially engine, cab, drivetrain, single- or dual-rear wheels, axle and towing equipment. Ford lists up to 40,000 pounds of towing for a properly equipped setup, but that figure requires the 40K Gooseneck Tow Package and does not apply to every F-350. The available price examples are individual vehicles, not a universal model-year starting price.
How much does a 2025 Ford F-350 cost?
Ford’s available pricing evidence does not establish one authoritative, model-wide starting MSRP for every 2025 F-350. Inventory prices vary by vehicle and dealer location, while a window sticker reflects one truck’s base price, options and other sticker charges.
| Example | Published price | What it represents |
|---|---|---|
| F-350 XL Regular Cab 4×4 in a Los Angeles-area Ford inventory search | $57,765 net MSRP | An individual inventory listing accessed October 7, 2026; not a universal starting price or transaction-price promise. Ford inventory |
| F-350 Lariat SRW 4×4 Crew Cab, VIN 1FT8W3BT1SEC72637 | $66,240 base price; $90,775 total MSRP | A specific Ford window sticker. The difference reflects selected options and sticker adjustments, not a trim-wide price. Ford window sticker |
Use these figures as examples when comparing listings, then check the sticker and dealer quote for the exact truck. Equipment and configuration can make two F-350s with the same trim name substantially different in price.
Which engines are available, and what do they make?
Ford’s 2025 Super Duty lineup includes XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum trims. The 6.8-liter gas V8 is standard on XL, XLT and Lariat; the 7.3-liter gas V8 is standard on King Ranch and Platinum. A 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel is available across trims. All pair with a 10-speed TorqShift automatic. Ford’s 2025 model-year announcement

| Engine | Ford-listed output | Maximum towing listed in Ford’s guide |
|---|---|---|
| 6.8L gas V8 | 405 hp; 445 lb-ft | 18,900 lb |
| 7.3L gas V8 | 430 hp; 485 lb-ft | 23,400 lb |
| 6.7L Power Stroke diesel, standard output | 475 hp; 1,050 lb-ft | 38,600 lb |
| 6.7L High Output Power Stroke diesel | 500 hp; 1,200 lb-ft | 40,000 lb |
These are Ford’s engine outputs and maximum towing figures from its 2025 Super Duty Pickup Towing Information. The towing values are maximums for specified, properly equipped configurations—not ratings that every F-350 with that engine can achieve.
Which engine should you choose?
- 6.8L gas V8: A gas-engine option for buyers who do not need the diesel’s higher listed towing maximum. Ford’s guide lists up to 18,900 pounds, subject to configuration and equipment.
- 7.3L gas V8: The standard gas engine on King Ranch and Platinum, with a higher listed output and maximum towing figure than the 6.8L.
- 6.7L diesel: Choose between standard and High Output versions based on the exact truck’s requirements. Ford lists the High Output at up to 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft, with the 40,000-pound maximum requiring the specified gooseneck package.
Engine choice alone cannot determine whether a particular truck can handle a trailer. Check the towing-guide row for the truck’s cab, drive, axle ratio, rear-wheel configuration and hitch type.

How much can a 2025 F-350 tow?
Ford’s guide lists maximum towing figures from 18,900 pounds for the 6.8L gas V8 to 40,000 pounds for a suitably equipped 6.7L High Output diesel configuration. The 40,000-pound figure requires the 40K Gooseneck Tow Package. Ford’s guide provides separate F-350 SRW and DRW tables across engines, cab types, drivetrains, axle ratios and conventional versus fifth-wheel/gooseneck towing. Use the row matching the exact truck and hitch setup rather than applying the headline maximum to all F-350s.
Ford cautions: “Maximum towing capabilities are for properly equipped vehicles with required equipment and a 150-lb. driver and passenger and vary based on cargo, vehicle configuration, accessories, option content and number of passengers.” Ford’s 2025 towing guide

What is the difference between F-350 SRW and DRW?
SRW means single rear wheels; DRW means dual rear wheels, often called a “dually.” These are different F-350 configurations, and Ford publishes separate towing tables for them. Do not assume that a towing or payload rating listed for one applies to the other. Compare the exact truck’s configuration and labels, including the axle and towing equipment, before relying on a rating.
How to check whether a specific F-350 can handle your trailer
- Identify the exact truck. Confirm it is an F-350 pickup, not an F-250 or chassis cab. Record its engine, cab, 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrain, SRW or DRW setup and axle ratio.
- Match the hitch and tow rating. In Ford’s 2025 towing guide, use the table for the truck’s configuration and the applicable conventional, fifth-wheel or gooseneck hitch type. Verify required packages, including the 40K Gooseneck Tow Package if you are evaluating that maximum.
- Check payload and weight limits separately. A tow rating does not establish that a loaded truck and trailer combination is within the truck’s GVWR, rear GAWR or payload limit. Include occupants, cargo and trailer tongue weight—or fifth-wheel/gooseneck pin weight—in the payload calculation. Check the truck’s payload label and weight ratings.
- Confirm installed equipment before buying. For fifth-wheel or gooseneck towing, verify the truck’s prep package and the hitch’s rated capacity and compatibility. A tow rating is only useful when the truck and hitch are equipped for the intended setup.
What does Ford’s 8,000-pound payload maximum mean?
Ford reports a maximum payload of up to 8,000 pounds for a specifically configured 2025 F-350 XL Regular Cab 4×2 DRW with the Gas Heavy-Duty Payload Package. It is not a payload figure for every F-350. Ford’s towing guide also shows that payload varies by engine and configuration; the truck’s own payload label and weight ratings are the relevant checks for a particular vehicle. Where to see 2025 F-350 photos
Ford’s 2025 model-year announcement includes Super Duty imagery, including an F-350 Platinum Plus image. Ford’s broader Super Duty model page also presents photography and specifications, but its current content is not a stable, F-350-specific 2025 price or photo catalog. Make sure an image is explicitly identified as a 2025 F-350 and matches the trim or configuration being discussed before treating it as a photo of that variant.
