The most visible differences are seat materials and stitching, grille design and wheel choices. Ford’s U.S. materials also describe a 13.2-inch center touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital cluster across the range. Images from Ford Mexico and Puerto Rico are identified as market-specific visual references, not proof of U.S. equipment.
2025 Ford Explorer interior pictures: what changes by trim
Ford says the 2025 Explorer cabin was redesigned with stitched soft-touch surfaces on the center console, door panels and dashboard. The dashboard sits farther forward, and a tray below the touchscreen can accommodate an available wireless charging pad. The 13.2-inch touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital cluster anchor the cabin; Ford lists Digital Experience, Google built-in, Alexa built-in, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in its U.S. materials. Features and equipment can vary by trim and option.
Seat and cabin finishes are useful visual identifiers in interior photos. Ford describes the following U.S. trim-specific combinations:
| U.S. trim | Cabin and seat appearance |
|---|---|
| Active | Ultra Dark Space Gray instrument panel, door panels and console with Harvest Bronze stitching; dark gray soft-touch seats with Black Onyx inserts and Harvest Bronze stitching. |
| ST-Line | Black Onyx surfaces with red stitching; Black Onyx ActiveX seats with cloth inserts and red stitching. |
| ST | Black Onyx surfaces with red stitching; Black Onyx ActiveX seats with Miko suede inserts and red stitching. |
| Platinum | Mojave Dusk leather instrument panel, door panels, console and seats with matched stitching. |
Ambient lighting is standard on ST and Platinum and available on ST-Line; Ford lists seven lighting colors. Availability is trim- and option-dependent.

Interior gallery references by market
- Ford Mexico 2025 Explorer gallery — Mexican-market reference. Ford Mexico labels ActiveX black seating and seating with mahogany Miko inserts; those details should not be read as a U.S. trim-equipment chart.
- Ford Puerto Rico Explorer page — Puerto Rico-market visual reference; confirm local trim and configuration rather than assuming the U.S. offer.
Where Ford labels an image as preproduction, retain that caveat in the image caption. A photo may illustrate a trim or finish without establishing that every pictured option is standard.
2025 Ford Explorer exterior pictures: grille and wheel differences
Ford describes a distinct grille design for each U.S. trim. Use the grille and the wheel configuration together when identifying exterior images.

Ford’s 2025 U.S. specifications give all four trims a length of 198.7 inches and width of 78.9 inches, excluding mirrors. Published height is 69.6 inches for Active and ST-Line and 70.2 inches for Platinum. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements.
Captioning exterior images accurately
- Name the trim shown when Ford identifies it; do not imply that a grille or wheel is common to every Explorer.
- Include the market and configuration when known, particularly for images from Mexico or Puerto Rico.
- Preserve Ford’s preproduction label where it applies, and identify optional wheels or packages only when the source identifies them.
2025 Ford Explorer trim differences: seating and dimensions
Seat capacity depends on trim and second-row layout. Ford’s specifications list six or seven seats for Active, ST-Line and Platinum, and six for ST. The order guide distinguishes third-row all-weather liner options for second-row bench seats versus captain’s chairs, underscoring why a gallery image alone cannot establish the exact seating configuration.

The U.S. lineup and trim descriptions here follow Ford’s January 2, 2024 launch announcement and its 2025 technical specifications. The launch announcement describes Active, ST-Line, ST and Platinum as the 2025 U.S. trims. Ford’s Mexico gallery is useful for seeing a regional Explorer interior, but its market-specific labels are not evidence that U.S. equipment, packages or trim availability match Mexico.
