Its strongest case is a roomy, technology-rich cabin; its trade-offs include fuel-economy estimates that favor FWD and a top trim priced well above the entry model. IIHS gives a Top Safety Pick+ award only to examples built after January 2025. The Enclave shares a platform family with the Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia, but the available evidence does not establish that it is a better value than either sibling.
Is the 2025 Buick Enclave a good SUV?
It is a compelling option for families who want three rows, substantial cabin technology and a more upscale trim choice. Buick lists 22.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, expanding to 57.1 cubic feet with that row folded and 97.5 cubic feet with both rear rows folded. Car and Driver measured 41.46 inches of second-row legroom and 32.13 inches in the third row, figures that suggest the back seats are usable for more than occasional short trips. The main strengths are the standard large display, standard wireless smartphone integration, available Super Cruise, and a single turbo engine shared across the lineup. The principal compromises are that AWD carries lower published fuel-economy estimates than FWD, the most luxurious Avenir costs substantially more than Preferred at launch, and independent safety recognition has a build-date condition. The available evidence does not support a direct-test verdict against the Traverse or Acadia.
What is new on the 2025 Buick Enclave?
Buick identifies the 2025 model as the start of a redesigned Enclave generation. The old generation’s powertrain is replaced by a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder paired with an eight-speed automatic. Buick rates it at 328 hp at 5,500 rpm and 326 lb-ft of torque at 3,500 rpm. The cabin’s headline change is a standard 30-inch diagonal display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging and seven standard camera views are also listed by Buick. The infotainment system integrates Google Assistant, Google Maps and downloadable apps. Buick announced OnStar One Essentials as including certain services for eight years; connected-service availability and terms can change, so confirm the current offer with Buick before relying on a particular feature or duration. How much does a 2025 Buick Enclave cost?
Buick’s launch MSRP figures, including destination freight charge, ranged from $46,395 for a Preferred FWD to $61,395 for an Avenir AWD. These are historical launch prices, not current dealer quotes or transaction prices. They exclude tax, title, license, dealer fees and optional equipment; Buick says dealers set final price. Which 2025 Enclave trim is best?
The right trim depends on whether you prioritize the lowest launch price, styling or added comfort. Buick lists three trims, and each can be configured with FWD or AWD.
Preferred: the entry point
Preferred is the least expensive starting point in the lineup. It includes the standard 30-inch display and wireless phone integration, and Buick lists a 12-speaker Bose audio system for Preferred and Sport Touring. The power package is available on Preferred rather than standard. Choose it if the core cabin technology matters more than premium seat and suspension features.

Sport Touring: added styling
Sport Touring starts $2,400 above Preferred for either drivetrain at launch. It adds distinctive styling, including a flat-bottom steering wheel, black grille treatment and unique wheels. It retains the 12-speaker Bose audio system. Consider it if those appearance details are worth the price difference to you.
Avenir: the comfort-focused flagship
Avenir adds the most substantial equipment step: 16-speaker Bose Performance Series audio, a panoramic sunroof, 22-inch wheels, Continuous Damping Control, ventilated and massaging front seats, and heated second-row outboard seats. Buick lists the power package as standard on Avenir. Its launch MSRP is $10,600 above Sport Touring for either drivetrain, making it a premium comfort choice rather than a small incremental upgrade.

Super Cruise is available across the trims but is not standard. Buick describes it as hands-free driving on compatible roads and under proper conditions; the driver must remain attentive. Car and Driver tested an Avenir FWD and reported 20 mpg observed overall and 23 mpg in its 75-mph highway test. Those are results for that publication’s tested vehicle and procedures, not EPA figures and not a prediction for every Enclave or AWD configuration. It also recorded 0–60 mph in 6.8 seconds for that Avenir FWD. [Car and Driver review]
How much can a 2025 Buick Enclave tow?
Buick lists maximum trailering capacity of up to 5,000 pounds with an available package. That is a maximum, not a guarantee for every configuration or load: passengers and cargo affect capacity, and the vehicle’s specific ratings and owner’s manual govern what it can tow. Is the 2025 Buick Enclave safe?
IIHS names the 2025 Enclave a Top Safety Pick+, but the award applies only to vehicles built after January 2025. The IIHS overview lists Good ratings for small overlap front, updated moderate overlap front and updated side crashworthiness tests. Standard vehicle-to-vehicle front crash prevention and seat-belt reminders are also rated Good; standard pedestrian front crash prevention is rated Acceptable. IIHS notes that some ratings rely on tests conducted by General Motors and applied by IIHS to the Enclave. Confirm the build date and equipment of the specific vehicle when evaluating the award. Should you choose the Enclave over its GM siblings?
The Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia belong to the same platform family, making them natural alternatives to consider. The evidence here does not provide balanced, direct testing or comparable pricing sufficient to declare one the better buy. Compare actual equipped vehicles: total dealer price, seating and cargo needs, available driver-assistance features, and the trim equipment you would otherwise pay for. The Enclave’s own lineup makes the clearest trade-off visible: Preferred emphasizes entry price, Sport Touring adds styling, and Avenir layers in comfort and luxury features.
