The comparison is about peak output, not overall speed or like-for-like vehicle performance. The RS Q8 is an SUV with a twin-turbo V8; the R8 is a sports car with a naturally aspirated V10. Audi quotes 0–100 km/h in 3.1 seconds and a 331 km/h top speed for the R8 V10 performance quattro coupe. For the RS Q8 performance, Audi quotes 3.6 seconds and a standard governed top speed of 250 km/h, rising to 280 or 305 km/h with optional versions. The R8’s quoted acceleration and top speed therefore exceed the RS Q8’s, despite its lower peak power.
