The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser was announced in three U.S. grades—Land Cruiser 1958, Land Cruiser, and First Edition. All use Toyota’s i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain, rated at 326 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque, with full-time four-wheel drive and a stated towing capacity of up to 6,000 pounds. Toyota’s February 2024 announcement listed a $55,950 starting MSRP for the 1958; that is the original announced price, not a current market quote.
2024 Land Cruiser trims at a glance
Toyota calls its trim levels “grades.” Its February 20, 2024 U.S. announcement described three configurations. Equipment and prices below reflect that launch announcement, not current inventory or dealer pricing. Toyota’s official 2024 Land Cruiser announcement is the source for the specifications and original MSRP.

What is the difference between Land Cruiser 1958 and Land Cruiser?
Land Cruiser 1958: heritage styling and core equipment
The 1958 is the more heritage-focused grade. Its round LED headlights and “TOYOTA” grille distinguish its exterior, while the cabin uses heated fabric seats and an 8-inch Audio Multimedia touchscreen. Toyota listed six-speaker audio, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, Smart Key with push-button start, and a 2,400-watt AC inverter.
Its announced off-road equipment includes full-time four-wheel drive, a two-speed transfer case, locking center and rear differentials, and CRAWL Control. Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard across all three grades.

Land Cruiser: more comfort, display space, and trail tools
The Land Cruiser grade adds rectangular LED headlamps, heated and ventilated SofTex-trimmed power front seats, a 12.3-inch multimedia display, and 10-speaker audio. Toyota also listed a power liftgate, color-selectable Rigid LED fog lights, Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism, Multi-Terrain Select, and Multi-Terrain Monitor.
A Premium Package was available for this grade. Toyota said it adds leather-trimmed heated and ventilated power front seats, driver memory, 14-speaker JBL audio, a digital rearview mirror, head-up display, moonroof, console cool box, and additional USB-C ports.

First Edition: limited-run equipment bundle
The First Edition combines the Premium Package content with round LED headlamps and distinct equipment: unique 18-inch wheels, a First Edition door-panel logo, roof rack, rock rails, and front skid plate. Toyota’s August 1, 2023 announcement described the North American run as limited to 5,000 units. That production limit does not establish whether a particular vehicle is available today.
Hybrid powertrain, fuel economy, and towing
Every grade was announced with Toyota’s i-FORCE MAX hybrid system: a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor integrated with an eight-speed automatic transmission, plus a 1.87-kWh nickel-metal-hydride battery pack. Toyota rated the system at 326 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque.

Off-road capability and grade-specific equipment
Toyota listed a two-speed transfer case, locking center and rear differentials, CRAWL Control, and Downhill Assist Control. Its February 2024 announcement gave maximum geometry figures of up to 31 degrees approach, 25 degrees breakover, and 22 degrees departure. Toyota highlighted Multi-Terrain Select, Multi-Terrain Monitor, and the Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism on the Land Cruiser and First Edition grades rather than the 1958.

The combination of locking differentials and full-time four-wheel drive is part of the announced specification across grades; the additional terrain modes, monitor, and stabilizer disconnect are key reasons to consider a higher grade if those particular features matter to your driving.

Toyota said Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard on all grades. The suite includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, Automatic High Beams, and Proactive Driving Assist. Toyota also described Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. These are driver-assistance features, not a guarantee of avoiding a collision; drivers remain responsible for vehicle operation.

Colors and appearance
Toyota listed seven exterior colors: Ice Cap, Wind Chill Pearl, Underground, Black, Meteor Shower, Trail Dust, and Heritage Blue. Trail Dust and Heritage Blue were offered with an optional two-tone Grayscape roof. Availability can vary by grade and vehicle; the announcement does not establish what is currently offered or in stock.
What the launch price does—and does not—tell you
The only starting price specified in the cited February 2024 announcement is the 1958 grade’s $55,950 starting MSRP. It is an original announced MSRP, not a current asking price, used-car value, or out-the-door cost. The announcement does not provide a current price for any grade, dealer inventory, or transaction data, so those figures should be checked against current listings and a dealer quote.
