Its launch figures were 0–60 mph in 2.9 seconds, 510 hp, 741 Nm of torque and a 163 mph top speed. Those are Tesla’s claims, not independent test results. The launch also highlighted adaptive damping, Track Mode V3, performance brakes, sports seats and staggered 20-inch wheels.
What Tesla confirmed at the April 2024 launch
Tesla’s April 23, 2024 launch announcement described the Performance as an updated Model 3 with changes to its chassis, track-focused software, brakes, seats, wheels and aerodynamics. The figures below are the manufacturer’s published claims; they should not be read as results from an independent road or track test.

What changed on the 2024 Model 3 Performance
Chassis and damping
Tesla cited a performance-tuned chassis and adaptive damping. Adaptive dampers can vary suspension response, but the launch material does not establish a measured ride-quality advantage or a particular setting’s effect in everyday driving.
Track Mode V3 and brakes
The launch added Track Mode V3 and performance brakes. Tesla’s 2024+ Model 3 Owner’s Manual says: “Track Mode is designed and calibrated for a Performance Model 3 equipped with performance brakes and tires.” Track Mode is a vehicle configuration feature, not an endorsement of high-speed driving on public roads.

Seats, wheels and tires
Tesla announced sports seats and described the setup as “Forged & staggered 20" wheels + Pirelli P Zero 4 tires”. Staggered fitment means the front and rear wheel or tire specifications may differ, so replacement tires should be selected by axle and checked against the exact vehicle and market. Tesla’s replacement tire information for 2024 Model 3 is the relevant service reference; confirm sizes and load and speed ratings before ordering.
Aerodynamic revisions
Tesla said the updated car achieved 5% less drag, 36% less lift and a 55% improvement in front-to-rear lift balance compared with the previous Model 3 Performance. These are Tesla’s comparative claims, not independently verified measurements; the stated comparator is the previous Performance model.

Current range and specifications: a separate snapshot
Tesla’s live Model 3 specifications page, viewed October 7, 2026, listed an EPA-estimated 309-mile range for the Performance. That is the current page figure, not proof that 309 miles was the definitive original 2024 model-year value. Tesla’s page can change and specifications may vary by region or model year.

What the confirmed details mean for a buyer
- Performance: The acceleration and top-speed numbers are Tesla-published claims. An independent test would be needed to establish real-world results under specified conditions.
- Range: Treat the 309-mile EPA estimate as the current page’s figure and check the specification for your market and model year before comparing it with another EV.
- Tires: The staggered 20-inch setup makes fitment more specific than simply choosing a tire by model name. Verify front and rear sizes, ratings and local-market compatibility.
- Track use: Track Mode is designed around the Performance car’s brakes and tires; driving conditions, tire condition and local rules still matter.
- Everyday use: Tesla’s current page lists five seats and 24 cu ft of cargo volume. Those figures do not establish ride comfort, which depends on road conditions and driver preference.
