The 2024 Kawasaki KLX300R is a US-market off-road motorcycle with a 292cc fuel-injected four-stroke engine, six-speed transmission and 11.2 inches of suspension travel at each end. Kawasaki listed its model-year MSRP at $5,549; that historical suggested price is not a current dealer quote.

How much does the 2024 KLX300R weigh?
Kawasaki lists curb weight as 282.2 lb, or 286.7 lb for the California model. Kawasaki defines curb weight as including the materials and fluids needed for correct operation, a fuel tank filled to more than 90 percent of capacity, and the tool kit if supplied. These are manufacturer figures from its 2024 model-year specification sheet, whose footer is dated ©2026.
Seat height, price and colors
Seat height and dimensions
The seat height is 35.4 inches. Kawasaki also lists 11.8 inches of ground clearance and a 56.5-inch wheelbase. Seat height alone does not establish whether a rider can comfortably reach the ground; rider inseam, boots and suspension setup affect that experience.

Model-year MSRP and color choices
Kawasaki’s US specification sheet lists a 2024 MSRP of $5,549 and two colors: Lime Green and Battle Gray. MSRP is the manufacturer’s historical suggested price for that model year, not a current transaction price or used-market valuation. Dealer inventory, discounts and present-day asking prices are not established by the specification sheet.
KLX300R versus KLX300: the model names matter
The KLX300R and KLX300 are separate motorcycles. Do not apply the dual-sport KLX300’s figures to the R. Kawasaki’s 2024 KLX300 sheet lists 10.0 inches of front travel, 9.1 inches of rear travel, a 35.2-inch seat height, 10.8 inches of ground clearance and 2.0 gallons of fuel capacity, along with different brake and ignition specifications.

When comparing the R with the KLX300 or another bike, check the intended model category and road-registration rules where you live, suspension travel and adjustment, seat height, ground clearance, curb-weight definition, fuel capacity, wheels and brakes, and actual current price. The manufacturer materials cited here do not establish local road legality or current dealer pricing, so verify those points with the relevant authority and seller.
Handlebar accessory and parts documentation
Kawasaki lists a Tapered Handle Bar, item 99994-1471-458, with a 1 1/8-inch clamping diameter. The listing says it replaces the stock handlebar and clamps and includes KLX300R model year 2024 among its compatible years. Confirm the exact part number and fitment before purchase; the listing does not establish current stock, price or availability from any particular retailer.

Kawasaki’s specification sheet advises riders to “Always wear a helmet, eye protection and proper apparel.” It also directs owners to follow the maintenance schedule in the owner’s manual. Consult the manual for the schedule and procedures applicable to the motorcycle.
