The 2024 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP discussed here is Honda’s 24YM European-market model, announced in November 2023—not the U.S.-market 2024 CBR1000RR. Honda’s U.S. materials identify the RR-R Fireblade SP as a 2025 model. For the European SP, Honda lists 160 kW (217 PS) at 14,000 rpm and 113 Nm at 12,000 rpm, alongside revised engine tuning, shorter gearbox ratios, new winglets, and updated chassis and electronics.
Which 2024 CBR1000RR-R does this refer to?
Honda’s “24YM” designation refers to its 2024 model-year European CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP. Market labels matter: Honda’s U.S. 2024 specification release covers the CBR1000RR and CBR1000RR ABS, while American Honda announced the RR-R Fireblade SP as a 2025 U.S. model in July 2024. The European SP’s specifications and prices should not be presented as U.S. 2024 specifications or availability. Honda Motor Europe’s 24YM press kit and American Honda’s model-year materials distinguish those lineups.
What changed for the 2024 European SP?
Honda revised the engine, gearbox, chassis, riding position, aerodynamics, brakes, and electronic suspension for 24YM. These are manufacturer-described changes; the available official material is not an independent performance test.
- Engine and gearing: Honda lists revisions to the cylinder head, compression ratio, valve timing, and valve springs, as well as a lighter crankshaft and connecting rods. Gear ratios are shorter throughout the six-speed gearbox.
- Throttle and engine braking: The 2-Motor Throttle By Wire system is described by Honda as improving low-rpm control and allowing stronger engine braking when desired.
- Chassis and position: Honda specifies a more pliant aluminum frame and a revised riding position.
- Aerodynamics: New winglets are claimed to maintain downforce while reducing yaw moment in cornering by 10 percent compared with the prior design. That percentage is Honda’s stated comparison, not an independently measured result.
- Brakes and suspension: The SP gains updated Brembo brakes and Öhlins Smart Electronic Control 3.0 suspension.

Engine, output, and key specifications
Honda Global gives the 24YM European SP a peak output of 160 kW at 14,000 rpm and peak torque of 113 Nm at 12,000 rpm. Those are Honda’s declared figures for this model and market. Honda Global’s 24YM announcement and the European press kit provide the figures.

Honda’s kit lists Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 and Bridgestone RS11 tire options. Exact original equipment can vary by market; confirm the fitment and availability for the particular bike. For replacement tires, check the motorcycle’s year and variant, both tire sizes, and the required ratings before ordering. Specifications are from Honda’s European press kit.

Electronics and equipment
The European SP’s listed equipment includes a six-axis IMU, three-level Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD), cornering ABS with a Race setting, adjustable riding modes, a five-inch TFT display, Smart Key, quickshifter, LED lighting, and emergency stop signals. Honda’s equipment list is in the 24YM press kit.
How the SP and Carbon Edition differ
The Carbon Edition is a limited cosmetic and weight-focused version of the SP, rather than a separate engine specification in Honda’s announcement. Honda Germany said it would be limited to 300 units worldwide and specified carbon-fiber upper and lower fairings, winglets, and wheel covers, plus a numbered special plate. Honda lists its kerb weight at 200 kg, compared with 201 kg for the standard SP. Availability now cannot be inferred from the launch announcement. What did it cost at launch?
Honda published different announced prices for Germany and Austria. They reflect those markets and dates, not a single worldwide MSRP or a current dealer quote.

The German figure is from Honda Germany; Austrian prices and the statement that local dealers could accept orders are from Honda Austria. Taxes, freight, stock, and dealer availability differ by market, so check with a local Honda dealer for a current offer.

What the official figures do—and do not—tell you
Honda’s materials establish its stated European SP specifications, described 24YM revisions, and dated regional launch information. They do not establish independent instrumented performance, present-day inventory, current transaction prices, or used-market values. Treat performance and aerodynamic benefits as Honda’s claims unless supported by independent testing.
