The FLTRXSE uses a 121-cubic-inch Milwaukee-Eight VVT engine with liquid-cooled cylinder heads and variable valve timing. Harley-Davidson says VVT broadens the powerband and improves fuel economy. The company publishes 115 hp at 4,500 rpm and 139 ft-lb at 3,000 rpm; the torque figure is identified as tested using J1349. The published 862-pound running-order weight gives a useful sense of the bike’s touring scale. Harley-Davidson also lists 825 pounds as shipped, which is a distinct measurement and should not be substituted for running-order weight. The 6-gallon tank, 2.2-cubic-foot luggage volume and 26.7-inch laden seat height round out the main touring figures.
