What makes the 2024 Yukon Denali Ultimate different?
GMC positions Denali Ultimate as the top expression of Denali. On the Yukon, the trim’s published design details include Alpine Umber full-grain leather seating surfaces, open-pore Paldao wood and a laser-etched Mount Denali topographic motif. GMC also describes exclusive Vader chrome accents and distinctive wheels as part of the Denali Ultimate design language. For model-year equipment, the relevant reference is GMC’s 2024 Yukon brochure. Equipment can vary by trim and market, so a feature shown for the Yukon generally should not automatically be treated as standard on Denali Ultimate.
Which engines were offered, and how do they compare?
GMC’s U.S. 2024 builder lists Denali Ultimate as four-wheel-drive only, with either a 6.2L gasoline V8 or a 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel. Both are paired with a 10-speed automatic. The prices are historical U.S. manufacturer’s suggested retail prices shown by GMC for the 2024 model, not today’s used-market values or a transaction quote. Taxes, title, license, dealer fees, optional equipment, dealer pricing and market conditions affect what a buyer pays. The diesel’s listed MSRP was $1,055 below the V8’s; that difference alone does not establish which engine costs less to own.
GMC’s current Yukon engine overview gives output figures of 420 hp and 460 lb-ft for the 6.2L V8, and 305 hp and 495 lb-ft for the Duramax. Because that page covers current Yukon engines generally rather than serving as a dedicated 2024 fact sheet, treat those figures as GMC-published engine overview data, not as independently confirmed model-year-specific specifications for every 2024 example. The evidence here does not establish real-world fuel economy, towing performance, reliability or owner costs.

How to choose between the V8 and diesel
- Consider the V8 if you prefer a gasoline engine and its higher GMC-listed horsepower figure in the current engine overview.
- Consider the Duramax if you prefer diesel and value its higher GMC-listed torque figure in that same overview.
- Compare actual vehicles by engine, equipment, condition and local asking price. The original MSRP is not a substitute for checking a used vehicle’s configuration and current value.
What should you know about Super Cruise?
GMC lists Super Cruise availability for the 2024 Yukon Denali and Denali Ultimate. GMC describes it as a driver-assistance system for compatible roads; an active plan or trial is required. The driver must remain attentive to traffic, surroundings and road conditions. Visibility, weather and road conditions can affect performance. It is not self-driving, and availability on a particular vehicle should be confirmed rather than assumed. What the available evidence does—and does not—say
GMC reported on December 18, 2024, that more than 2 million Denali vehicles had been sold in the U.S. and that Denali represented over 30% of GMC retail sales in 2024. Those are brand-level figures; they do not disclose sales of the Yukon Denali Ultimate specifically. GMC’s December 2024 announcement provides the figures.

It does not establish independent road-test impressions, reliability outcomes, crash-test ratings, owner satisfaction, real-world fuel economy or current used-market value. Those are separate questions to investigate when evaluating a specific vehicle.
