Chevrolet rates it at 490 hp in standard form, or 495 hp when equipped with available Z51 or Performance Exhaust. Its headline claim of less than 3 seconds from 0 to 60 mph applies to cars with Z51; it is a manufacturer claim, not an independent test result.
What the 2024 Corvette Stingray is
The 2024 Stingray is the standard Corvette model, distinct from the hybrid E-Ray and the higher-performance Z06. It comes as a coupe or hardtop convertible, with 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT trims. All use a 6.2-liter LT2 V8 driving the rear wheels through an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. Chevrolet describes the mid-engine layout as optimizing weight distribution for straight-line and track performance; that is the manufacturer’s description, not an independent handling assessment.
Chevrolet’s official 2024 Stingray specifications list 490 hp as standard output. Available Z51 or Performance Exhaust equipment raises the quoted rating to 495 hp.
2024 Corvette Stingray price and trims
Published 2024 starting-price references vary. Cars.com lists the following U.S. MSRP figures by body style and trim; Car and Driver lists a different 1LT price. The discrepancy is not resolved by the available sources, so these figures should be treated as outlet-listed references rather than a single definitive price or a current transaction value.

Source: Cars.com’s 2024 Corvette specifications. Car and Driver lists $69,995 for a 1LT coupe and $76,995 for a 1LT convertible in its 2024 Stingray specifications. The Chevrolet lineup page is current, not a 2024 price list, and should not be used to establish the model-year MSRP.
Choosing 1LT, 2LT, or 3LT
The trims let buyers choose how much comfort and driver-assistance equipment to add, while coupe versus convertible is a separate choice. Chevrolet’s equipment summary gives 2LT and 3LT features including heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, HD front and rear cameras with curb view, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert, and a head-up display; several are upgrades over 1LT. The audio systems also differ: 1LT has a Bose 10-speaker system, while 2LT and 3LT have a 14-speaker Bose Performance Series system. Verify the specific car’s window sticker because equipment and options can vary.

Engine, performance, and Z51
The LT2 is a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8. Chevrolet rates standard Stingray output at 490 hp; available Z51 or Performance Exhaust equipment brings the listed rating to 495 hp. Car and Driver lists 465 lb-ft of torque at 5,150 rpm for its 1LT specification.
Chevrolet says a Z51-equipped Stingray can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3 seconds. That figure is a manufacturer claim qualified by the Z51 package, not an independently measured result, and Chevrolet’s reviewed model-year sheet does not give a more exact time. No independent instrumented test result is established here.

What Z51 adds
Z51 is the principal performance-equipment package. Chevrolet lists a performance suspension, upgraded brakes, a different axle ratio, exhaust, and an electronic limited-slip differential among its contents. Magnetic Ride Control is another available choice. These are equipment distinctions; no independent handling or braking measurements are provided by the cited specifications.

Dimension and cargo figures are from Chevrolet’s 2024 model-year sheet. Fuel economy is an EPA estimate listed by Car and Driver, not a result from a road test described here. Chevrolet’s 0-to-60 claim is addressed separately because it applies specifically with Z51.

Quick Recap

Which Stingray configuration makes sense?
- Choose coupe or convertible first. Cars.com’s listed starting prices show the convertible costs more at each trim level. The convertible is a hardtop, but body style still affects price and equipment choices.
- Choose trim for the features you want. The 2LT and 3LT equipment summaries include comfort, camera, alert, and display upgrades over 1LT. Confirm details on the actual car rather than relying on trim name alone.
- Choose Z51 for its specific performance hardware. It adds the equipment Chevrolet associates with the sub-3-second 0–60 claim, but that claim should not be read as applying to every Stingray.
- Compare actual asking and transaction prices separately. Published MSRP references disagree, and the cited sources do not establish current used-market values.
