That makes it a specialty modern reinterpretation, rather than a new Chevrolet-built Chevelle. Trans Am Worldwide’s product page and MotorAuthority’s reporting offer the respective manufacturer and independent perspectives.

1. It revives a recognizable Chevelle identity
The project is explicitly framed by its maker as a tribute to the 1970 Chevelle Super Sport. That connection gives the 70/SS a clear reference point: a celebrated muscle-car shape and name, reinterpreted for a contemporary specialty build.
2. It pairs retro styling with a modern platform
MotorAuthority reports that the car uses sixth-generation Camaro underpinnings and reshaped carbon-fiber body panels. The result is not an original Chevelle chassis restored or reproduced; it is a modern platform wearing a design intended to recall the classic.

5. The advertised output range reaches very high figures
Trans Am Worldwide lists 450 hp for the base model and a 675 hp supercharged option. Its 396 Heritage is listed with 800- or 900-rear-wheel-horsepower options, the latter associated with a twin-turbo model. The 454 LS6X page lists supercharged 900 hp, twin-turbo 1,000 hp, and twin-turbo 1,500 hp options. These figures are attributed to the manufacturer; the available reporting does not establish independent dynamometer, acceleration, or top-speed results for the specific car. 6. The LS6X has a stated production limit
Trans Am Worldwide describes the 454 LS6X as limited to 25 units. That makes it a deliberately scarce edition on paper, but the production limit does not show how many build slots, if any, remain.

The 1970 Chevelle had a much broader range of original-era configurations than this modern tribute, so the two should not be treated as mechanically equivalent. For historical context, GM’s 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Vehicle Information Kit is the primary reference. Hagerty’s June 26, 2024 valuation report identifies the original 1970 Chevelle’s base engine as a 155-horsepower straight-six. That historical figure describes the classic car, not the 70/SS.

9. It is a specialty-car development story, not a factory revival
Independent coverage provides context about the design and development choices behind Trans Am Worldwide’s tribute. That background helps explain the car’s place in the custom-car world, but it does not establish reliability, long-term ownership experience, or the quality of every individual build.
10. The platform has continued to evolve
Trans Am Worldwide announced 70/SS Version 2.0 on March 25, 2026, calling it the latest evolution of the platform. A car described as a 2024 70/SS should therefore not automatically be assumed to have the later version’s features. Compare the exact build year and specification with the company’s Version 2.0 announcement.
