The 2023 Moto Guzzi V85 TT pairs classic enduro styling with an 853 cc transverse 90-degree V-twin, five riding modes, cruise control, a TFT display and dual-channel ABS. Its touring kit depends on the version: the range included the V85 TT/Adventure, V85 TT Travel and limited-edition Guardia d’Onore, with different equipment on each. This is a model-year-specific review of the published specifications and design; it does not claim a firsthand road test.
What the 2023 V85 TT is—and what this review can establish
Moto Guzzi’s 2023 US brochure positions the V85 TT as a middleweight adventure-tourer with an 853 cc transverse 90-degree V-twin and modern touring electronics. It lists five riding modes, Ride by Wire, traction control, cruise control, a TFT instrument panel and dual-channel ABS. Those features establish the bike’s equipment, not how its engine, brakes or suspension feel on the road.
The styling follows Moto Guzzi’s “classic enduro” theme: the manufacturer’s design description points to a high front mudguard and twin front lamps. Its 2019 press material also describes an upright position and narrow body intended to let the rider move around. These are design aims, not independent findings about comfort or handling. Moto Guzzi/Piaggio Group’s 2019 V85 TT press description provides that background; the 2023 US range brochure is the controlling source here for that model year’s range and equipment.
2023 V85 TT variants: equipment that changes the touring equation
The names are not interchangeable equipment packages. The 2023 brochure assigns different touring and protection features to each version, and exact availability can vary by market.

| Version | Brochure-listed equipment | What distinguishes it |
|---|---|---|
| V85 TT / V85 TT Adventure | TFT display, full LED lights, Ride by Wire, five modes (Road, Rain, Off-road, Sport and Custom), cruise control, hand guards, aluminum engine guard, Moto Guzzi traction control and dual-channel ABS. | The Adventure is listed with aluminum top and side cases; do not assume these are included on every V85 TT. |
| V85 TT Travel | Core electronics plus special panniers, heated grips, touring windscreen, Moto Guzzi MIA connectivity, center stand and tire-pressure monitoring system (TPMS). | The clearest touring-focused factory package in the listed range: luggage, wind protection and heated grips are included in its brochure equipment. |
| V85 TT Guardia d’Onore | Five modes, cruise control, hand guards, engine protection bars, center stand, touring windshield, auxiliary LED lights, top and side cases, and an edition-specific booklet. | A special-edition version with its own listed equipment; the brochure does not specify heated grips, Moto Guzzi MIA or TPMS for it. |
For a used-bike listing or a market outside the United States, confirm the precise version and fitted equipment rather than relying on the V85 TT name alone.
Modes and touring electronics
The five 2023 modes are Road, Rain, Off-road, Sport and Custom. The brochure also lists Ride by Wire, Moto Guzzi traction control, cruise control, a TFT display and dual-channel ABS. That is a substantial set of electronic features for a bike whose visual language looks back to enduro machines, but the brochure does not describe every mode’s calibration or establish how the systems behave in real riding.

- ENGINEERED POWER: Increases performance by delivering high airflow that can help improve horsepower, acceleration, and engine response without typically requiring fuel-management modifications.
- PREMIUM ENGINE PROTECTION: Layers of premium cotton gauze treated with a specially designed tacking agent work to trap dirt & contaminants.
- WASHABLE & REUSABLE: K&N pre-oiled washable filters offer a longer service life, helping reduce replacement costs while supporting extended maintenance intervals.
- PRECISION OEM-STYLE FIT: Made with application specific seamless sealing beads and custom seals for easy installation (Where Applicable).
Moto Guzzi’s older press material discusses early Road, Rain and Off-road logic and cruise-control operation. Because that material predates the 2023 five-mode lineup, it should be treated as background, not as a definitive explanation of 2023 software behavior. Consult the owner’s manual for the specific bike for operating details.
Touring dimensions, shaft drive and published economy
Moto Guzzi’s 2019 press page lists a 23-litre fuel tank, an 830 mm seat height and 208 kg dry weight for the V85 TT model it describes. These are useful family-level reference figures, but that older page is not a complete specification sheet for every 2023 US variant. In particular, its dry-weight figure is not a wet or kerb weight and should not be treated as the exact weight of a 2023 trim.

The same manufacturer page promotes shaft drive as a low-maintenance alternative to a chain. Its statement that the V85 TT was “the only bike in its segment to use shaft drive transmission” is Moto Guzzi’s own comparative claim, not independent verification of segment uniqueness. Shaft drive may appeal to riders who prefer not to maintain a chain, but the quoted material does not quantify ownership costs or prove that one system is better for every use.
Moto Guzzi’s 2023 US brochure lists 48 mpg and 119 g/km CO2 for the V85 range. These are manufacturer-published brochure figures, not independently tested real-world fuel economy or emissions results. Riding conditions and use can affect actual consumption.

Windscreens and luggage: factory fit versus accessories
The Travel version includes a touring windscreen and panniers in the 2023 brochure, while other versions have their own listed luggage or protection equipment. Buyers should first identify what is already fitted; the model name alone does not establish that a windscreen or a particular luggage set is included.
For aftermarket options, Givi’s catalog lists V85 TT fitment for model years 2019–2023. Its selector includes the clear D8203ST replacement screen, described by Givi as 34.5 cm taller than the original, along with model-specific top-case adapters, side-case carriers and the BF46 tank-bag adapter. This is catalog fitment information, not a guarantee that every product suits every variant or market. Check the exact year, version and local fitment details before ordering. Givi’s V85 TT (2019–2023) accessory selector is the relevant catalog reference.

What a specification-led review cannot tell you
Published equipment and dimensions do not establish engine response, vibration, wind buffeting, braking feel, suspension behavior, low-speed balance, passenger comfort or gravel-road performance. Without a firsthand ride or a fully consulted, attributable test, those qualities should not be presented as tested conclusions. A 2023 video review by Juanquy en Moto exists, but its available listing alone is not enough to support specific ride impressions. The 2023 V85 TT review search listing can help readers locate that secondary-review context.
Quick Recap
Who the 2023 V85 TT may suit
- Riders drawn to classic enduro styling who also want a TFT display, cruise control and multiple ride modes.
- Tourers who want factory-fitted wind protection, heated grips and panniers should look closely at the Travel equipment list.
- Buyers considering an Adventure or Guardia d’Onore should verify the exact cases, protection and other equipment on the individual bike.
- Anyone choosing primarily on comfort, off-pavement ability or real-world performance should seek a proper test ride; the published specifications cannot answer those questions.
