Entry-level U.S. comparison
Cars.com lists the 2023 Grecale at 296 hp and the Macan at 261 hp. That gives the Maserati the higher listed output in this specific U.S. entry-level comparison. The figures do not establish how the cars perform in a matched instrumented test, and trim, equipment, and market matter.
Higher-performance UK comparison
Auto Express’s 2023 UK test compared a Grecale Modena with a Macan GTS. It lists 325 bhp and 450 Nm for the Modena, versus 434 bhp and 550 Nm for the GTS. The Porsche’s quoted figures are higher, but the GTS is not the base Macan. Maserati’s technical material distinguishes the Grecale’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder mild-hybrid configurations from its 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 versions, so check the exact engine and trim rather than generalizing from one badge or comparison.
For an actual purchase decision, compare the specific vehicles’ trim, engine, equipment, and condition—and drive them back to back if possible. A trim-specific review can show how those two test cars compare, but it cannot settle how a different pair will feel.

How do their prices compare?
In Cars.com’s U.S. comparison, the 2023 Grecale GT AWD has a listed starting MSRP of $63,500 and the 2023 Macan starts at $57,500. These are original starting-price figures in a model comparison accessed in 2026, not current asking prices, final transaction prices, or the cost of similarly equipped examples.
The UK test gives stated prices of £67,810 for the Grecale Modena and £71,700 for the Macan GTS. Those are prices for the specific UK test trims reported by Auto Express in 2023; they are not interchangeable with U.S. figures. Before deciding that one is cheaper, compare the same country, model year, trim, options, and type of price—MSRP, asking price, or completed transaction.

Which is more fuel-efficient?
Cars.com lists the Grecale at 22 city/29 highway mpg and the Macan at 19 city/25 highway mpg in its U.S. comparison. Treat those as database-listed comparison figures, not a promise of real-world mileage. The Auto Express UK test uses WLTP mpg for different trims, so those values should not be mixed with the U.S. figures as though they use the same test cycle or configuration.
Which has more room?
Auto Express reports that the Grecale is longer and has a longer wheelbase than the Macan in its UK test. The available comparison does not establish a reliable, matched cargo-volume or passenger-space result. Exterior dimensions alone cannot tell you whether a child seat, rear passenger, stroller, or regular load will fit comfortably. Check the specific vehicle and test your usual passengers or cargo before buying.

Running costs depend on market and trim
Auto Express includes UK-specific estimates for depreciation, fuel, tax, insurance, and servicing for its two test cars. Those are publication estimates for particular UK trims, not guaranteed future costs or a forecast for a U.S. owner. Get local insurance and service quotes and assess the vehicle’s history and condition when comparing actual cars.
Confirm remaining warranty on the individual vehicle
Cars.com lists a four-year/50,000-mile basic warranty for both 2023 models in its U.S. comparison. A used vehicle may have little or no coverage remaining, depending on when its warranty began, its mileage, and the terms that apply.
