The U.S.-market 2022 Subaru Impreza 5-Door came in Base, Premium, Sport and Limited trims, with standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and a 152-hp 2.0-liter engine. Subaru’s June 2021 launch pricing put the Base hatchback at $19,295 with a five-speed manual or $20,595 with a CVT. It offers 20.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, expanding to 55.3 cubic feet with the seatbacks folded.
2022 Impreza hatchback trims and original pricing
The figures below are original U.S. launch MSRPs announced by Subaru of America on June 17, 2021. They are not current used-car values. The release lists the Limited as 5-Door-only; check the original release for its exact price and destination-charge treatment before treating a figure as a complete configured price.

Engine, transmission and all-wheel drive
Every 2022 Impreza 5-Door used Subaru’s 2.0-liter direct-injection BOXER four-cylinder, rated at 152 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive was standard across the lineup. The model line offered a five-speed manual or Lineartronic CVT, with availability dependent on trim; the Sport hatchback could be configured with a manual, while the Limited was CVT-equipped. Fuel economy by hatchback configuration
Subaru’s published EPA estimates below are city/highway/combined mpg. They are estimates, not a promise of an individual driver’s real-world fuel economy.

Dimensions and cargo capacity
The 5-Door measures 175.6 inches long, with a 105.1-inch wheelbase. Subaru lists 20.8 cubic feet of cargo capacity with the rear seatbacks raised and 55.3 cubic feet with them folded. Maximum load-floor length is 32.3 inches with the seats up and 64.2 inches folded. The cargo figures are body-style specifications rather than trim-specific values.
A cargo net is among the accessories shown in Subaru’s brochure; it is intended to help keep loose items from sliding. Use the brochure’s hatchback images when identifying cargo accessories, since some images show the sedan. See Subaru’s 5-Door specifications and brochure accessory imagery.

Before ordering replacement tires, confirm the vehicle’s tire placard and existing wheel setup; do not rely on trim name alone if wheels have been changed. See Subaru’s tire specifications.
Safety and driver-assistance equipment
Subaru describes EyeSight features including pre-collision braking, pre-collision throttle management, lane departure and sway warning with lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control. Its 2022 pricing release says EyeSight was standard on CVT-equipped models. Availability of other safety equipment differs by trim and configuration; verify the specific car’s equipment rather than assuming every listed feature is present. Driver-assistance systems do not replace attentive driving.

Subaru’s 2022 Impreza brochure contains model imagery, while its accessory pages show items such as a cargo net, side window deflectors, body side molding and auto-dimming exterior mirrors with approach light. Not every brochure photo depicts a hatchback, so check the body style and trim shown before using an image to identify a specific vehicle or accessory.

What to check when shopping used
- Confirm the car is a 5-Door and identify its trim; Limited was hatchback-only for 2022.
- Check whether it has the manual or CVT, since fuel economy and some equipment differ by configuration.
- Compare a used asking price with condition, mileage, title and accident history, equipment, region and fees. The launch MSRP is not a current-market valuation.
- Verify the individual vehicle’s safety equipment, tire placard and wheel setup before relying on trim-level descriptions.
