Its strongest case is the combination of a redesigned interior, available trailering technology and useful towing equipment—not a blanket promise that every High Country has the same engine, ratings or options. Check the individual truck’s build and ratings before buying.
What changed for the 2022 Silverado High Country?
Chevrolet refreshed the Silverado for 2022 rather than replacing it with an all-new truck. LT and higher trims, including High Country, received a redesigned interior with a 13.4-inch touchscreen and a configurable 12.3-inch driver display. Chevrolet also described the update as bringing a refined design and new technology options. Chevrolet’s 2022 announcement is the model-year reference for those changes.
The large displays give the cabin a more contemporary focal point, while High Country’s appeal remains rooted in combining upscale trim equipment with the practical hardware expected of a full-size pickup.
What comes on a 2022 Silverado High Country?
Chevrolet’s brochure lists the following equipment for High Country. A particular used truck can differ because configuration and installed options matter, so verify its window sticker or build sheet rather than assuming every item is present.

Does the 2022 High Country have Super Cruise?
Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance with trailering was offered for the 2022 High Country, but Chevrolet announced it with late availability. It was not standard on every High Country, and a model-year listing alone does not establish that a particular truck has the system. Confirm the feature on the vehicle’s build sheet and inspect the installed equipment.

Cars.com’s option-equipped 2022 test truck included Super Cruise, along with a V8, moonroof and Multi-Flex tailgate. Cars.com reported that truck at $72,870; that is the price of its equipped test vehicle, not a standard High Country price or a current used-market valuation. Cars.com’s pros-and-cons article also discusses towing camera functions.
How much can a 2022 Silverado High Country tow?
There is no single towing or payload figure to apply to every High Country. Ratings depend on the truck’s configuration and equipment, as well as passengers and cargo. The brochure directs owners to the manual for trailering guidance; for a specific truck, check its door and trailering labels, owner documentation, and the rating tables that apply to its exact configuration. Do not infer a maximum rating from the trim name or the presence of a hitch.

How did the 2022 Silverado perform in IIHS crash tests?
IIHS’s 2022 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab page reports mixed results across its listed crashworthiness tests. The evaluated Crew Cab earned Good ratings in five categories, but not every test received the top grade:

Is the 2022 Silverado High Country worth considering?
It makes sense to shortlist the High Country if you want the 2022 Silverado’s redesigned, display-rich cabin alongside a premium trim and useful trailering hardware. Its technology story is strongest when the specific truck is equipped with the features you want, especially Super Cruise, rather than when you rely on the trim badge alone.
When comparing two listings, check the engine, cab and bed, two- or four-wheel drive, tow package and installed trailering technology, Super Cruise, safety equipment, condition and price. The available evidence does not establish a universal towing figure, a current used value or a basis for ranking engine efficiency, so use the actual truck’s documentation and condition—not trim-level assumptions—to decide.
