Payload is not the same as the weight of cargo placed in the bed. Payload can include the driver, passengers, fuel, tools, accessories, canopy, towbar hardware, and other permanently or temporarily carried equipment. When towing, trailer nose weight also uses part of the vehicle’s available payload where applicable.
Before towing at the maximum listed figure, check the vehicle identification plate, registration document, exact drivetrain and grade, towbar certification, trailer-brake requirements, nose-weight limit, tyre load rating, and the legally permitted combined mass. An imported Hilux may have a different certified limit from the UK figure.
Is the 2021 Toyota Hilux good off-road?
