Cycle World’s 2020 table identifies the tire sizes above. Vespa’s 2024 Sprint S 50 technical sheet lists the same sizes as tubeless, but that later sheet does not establish tire construction for every 2020 scooter. The 2024 sheet also lists a 2.0-gallon fuel capacity; that later-model-family figure is not established here as the 2020 U.S. specification.

How to verify tires and replacement parts
Use 110/70-12 as the published front size and 120/70-12 as the published rear size for the 2020 Sprint 50. Size alone is not enough to choose a tire: confirm the required construction, load and speed ratings, and fitment for the specific scooter. The installed tire sidewall and vehicle documentation are practical checks; consult a qualified dealer if they conflict with a listing.
A catalog entry exists for the 2020 U.S. Sprint 50 4T/3V E2 configuration, with exploded views including an air-filter group. Find the correct maintenance schedule
Do not rely on a generic Vespa service interval or an older model’s schedule. Vespa states, “Service intervals vary from vehicle to vehicle,” and directs owners to the schedule in the vehicle’s own user and maintenance manual—even if a mileage estimate has not been reached.
- Locate the scooter’s chassis number (VIN).
- Enter it in Vespa’s manual portal to request the booklet for that vehicle. Vespa says the service covers vehicles produced from 2004.
- Follow the schedule and specifications in that booklet. If the VIN does not return a manual or the vehicle documents disagree, contact an authorized Vespa service center.
Vespa directs owners to authorized service centers and says those centers use original spare parts. For a used scooter, check its service records and recall status, then confirm the VIN and manual before planning maintenance or buying parts. Check year, trim and market when comparing listings
“Sprint 50,” “Sprint 50 S” and “Racing Sixties 50” are not interchangeable listing labels. Before comparing scooters or specifications, verify:
- Model year and exact trim.
- Country or market and emissions version.
- Engine and equipment details in the vehicle documents.
- Front and rear tire sizes, ratings and condition.
- VIN-matched service history and recall status.
- Overall vehicle condition.
Later Vespa specification pages describe later equipment, not necessarily the 2020 version. Similarly, Cycle World’s $4,099 figure is a historical MSRP for the 2020 Sprint 50; the same guide lists a $4,199 starting MSRP for the Racing Sixties 50, not a present-day valuation for either scooter.
