The 2016-era BRABUS G700 Widestar is a modified Mercedes-AMG G 63, not a separate Mercedes production trim. Period reporting describes a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 700 PS and 960 Nm, paired with the Widestar bodywork and distinctive styling. Those figures and equipment describe the reported period example; later G700 listings refer to other configurations and should be assessed separately.
What is the BRABUS G700 Widestar?
BRABUS built the G700 Widestar around the Mercedes-AMG G 63, combining a performance upgrade with wider, more conspicuous exterior styling. The name therefore identifies a BRABUS conversion, not a factory Mercedes-AMG model grade. “2016” also needs context: it may refer to a vehicle’s model year, build date, first registration, or conversion date, which are not necessarily the same.
Motor.es’ 2016 account describes a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 G63 producing 700 PS and 960 Nm. Those are period-reported figures for the G700 Widestar described in that article, not a guarantee that every vehicle advertised as a 2016 G700 has the same engine, output, or conversion.
What did the 2016-era example look like?
The period example reported by Motor.es wore Solar Beam yellow paint with black contrast details. Its described conversion included Widestar bodywork, larger air inlets, LED daytime running lights, darkened headlamp treatment, carbon-fiber exterior pieces, and 23-inch wheels. The cabin was described with black leather, yellow contrast stitching, and a diamond-pattern treatment.

These are details of the reported show vehicle, not a standard equipment list for every G700 Widestar. A similarly styled car may have different parts or an incomplete conversion, so appearance alone does not confirm BRABUS provenance.
How do the published G700 figures differ?
Figures associated with the G700 vary by source, date, and specific configuration. The 2016 period account, a later BRABUS specification sheet, and a 2018 BRABUS Russia announcement should not be combined into one universal specification.

The 2019 values are manufacturer-listed specifications for the configuration on that Cars4Sale sheet, not independent test results and not verified specifications for every 2016-era car. The 2018 acceleration claim belongs to the later configuration described in that announcement.
What should a buyer verify on an advertised car?
A marketplace listing can show how a seller describes a car, but it does not establish the conversion’s origin, installed parts, or documented performance. One Standvirtual listing advertises a purported September 2016-registered G700 Brabus Widestar Carbon in Portugal, with 55,980 km and a 5,461 cm³ engine. Its date, mileage, equipment, and claimed registered engine preparation are seller-provided details and should be checked against records; price and availability may change.

- Check registration documents for declared engine changes where applicable.

The 2016 period report describes a particular yellow example; the 2019 BRABUS sheet documents a later listed configuration; and the Portugal marketplace advert describes a seller’s vehicle. They are useful for different purposes, not interchangeable proof of a single standard specification.
