The 2015 Can-Am Spyder RT-S is an RT touring model with a specific equipment package—not a separate engine platform. It was offered with either the SM6 six-speed manual or SE6 six-speed semi-automatic transmission, both with reverse. The distinction matters when choosing a repair reference or checking parts: verify the transmission and the individual vehicle rather than relying on the RT-S name alone.
What the 2015 RT-S includes
BRP’s 2015 specification sheet describes the RT touring platform first, then lists the equipment added by the RT-S package. That makes it important to distinguish equipment shared across the RT range from RT-S-specific features.
RT platform equipment
The RT platform uses a Rotax 1330 ACE inline three-cylinder engine and includes a six-speed transmission with reverse, available as manual SM6 or semi-automatic SE6. Standard equipment listed by BRP includes a Vehicle Stability System with anti-lock braking, traction control and stability control; ECO mode; touring seat and driver-backrest readiness; audio equipment; Dynamic Power Steering; and SACHS shocks. RT-S package additions

BRP listed RT-S colors as Steel Black Metallic, Pearl White, Intense Red Pearl and Circuit Yellow Metallic. Equipment and color can differ on Special Series and Limited configurations; their specifications should not be folded into the standard RT-S description.

SM6 or SE6: identify the transmission first
The 2015 RT-S was available as an SM6 six-speed manual or an SE6 six-speed semi-automatic, and both versions have reverse. The rider operates the SM6 as a manual transmission; the SE6 is semi-automatic. BRP’s 2015 sheet lists the Special Series and RT Limited configurations as SE6-only. The available material does not establish a performance or reliability advantage for either RT-S transmission.
Check the actual vehicle’s transmission before ordering parts or selecting a repair manual. A model-family label such as “RT/RT-S” does not by itself confirm that a reference covers both variants.

2015 RT-S specifications and historical details
The following figures are from BRP’s 2015 model-year RT specification sheet, published in 2014. They describe the RT platform; they should not be substituted with figures from another Spyder year or trim.

BRP’s 2014 brochure for the 2015 model year advertised a two-year limited warranty and two-year roadside assistance when new. That is historical model-year information, not evidence of coverage remaining on a used vehicle. BRP’s 2015 Spyder brochure

Which manual should you use?
For operation and scheduled maintenance
Start with BRP’s 2015 Spyder RT Operator’s Guide. BRP says its owner guides explain vehicle features, operation, specifications, maintenance requirements and procedures for minor issues. Select the correct model year, market and language in BRP’s Operator’s Guides index; do not assume a later-year guide gives the exact 2015 maintenance schedule.
For deeper repair work
A third-party BRP Manuals listing describes a 2015 Can-Am Spyder RT/RT-S repair and maintenance manual collection covering SM6 and SE6 versions, and claims 842 pages. Publication year is not stated, and that page count is the seller’s description rather than an independently audited figure. Before relying on or buying a manual, confirm its edition, contents and explicit coverage of your transmission. Check each accessory against the vehicle
A current catalog listing does not establish that an accessory fits a 2015 RT-S. BRP’s U.S. Spyder RT catalog includes items such as an outdoor cover, adjustable driver backrest and GPS support, but catalog pages can cover multiple model years. BRP explicitly says: “The Fits-on feature is for suggestion purposes only and allows you to check the compatibility of an accessory or a part sold online with the selected vehicle.” The catalog directs buyers to the operator’s guide or a dealer for more information. The 2015 specification sheet also advertises a comfort seat and driver backrest. That does not prove a currently listed accessory is interchangeable with a particular 2015 vehicle; verify year and fitment for the exact part.

What to verify on a used 2015 RT-S
Specifications identify the model configuration, not the condition or history of an individual machine. The cited model-year materials do not establish the service history, present warranty, recall status or installed options of a specific used RT-S. Check those vehicle-specific details directly with the seller and through BRP or a dealer using the VIN. Inspect the actual equipment and transmission rather than assuming the vehicle still matches its original configuration.
