What engine does a 2014 Charger Pursuit have?
Mopar’s catalog separates the 2014 Charger Pursuit into three configurations: a 3.6L V6 flex-fuel, a 3.6L V6 gasoline, and a 5.7L V8 gasoline. The Pursuit name does not tell you which one a particular car has. Check the vehicle’s VIN and build information, and confirm its installed engine before ordering service parts. Mopar vehicle information and the Mopar parts catalog are starting points for vehicle-specific identification and fitment.
What police equipment did it come with?
Police equipment varied by factory package. Dodge’s 2014 Charger Police feature availability sheet lists items including the police floor console, front and rear lighting, wiring, power distribution, and push bumper, with prerequisites or inclusion tied to specified packages. Some configurations required a base police or patrol/slick-top package; other equipment was included only in designated packages.
That means a Pursuit badge is not proof that a car left the factory with every police feature. For a particular vehicle, use its VIN-specific build information and inspect what is actually installed; equipment may also have been removed or changed after service.

What should you check on an ex-police Charger?
Start with the specific car rather than assumptions about all Pursuit models. The factory documentation identifies configurations and equipment availability, but it does not establish any individual car’s service history, operating hours, modifications, or current condition.
- Confirm configuration: Identify the engine and fuel variant before buying engine-specific parts or arranging service.
- Verify equipment: Compare installed police components with the build information and package, rather than relying on the Pursuit name.
- Review records and modifications: Ask for available maintenance records and identify aftermarket wiring or equipment. Dodge advises consulting its Police Upfitter’s Guide before adding aftermarket equipment.
- Assess the individual vehicle: Have its condition inspected. Model-level police documentation cannot determine how a specific car was operated or maintained.
Dodge’s 2014 Charger Police Supplement is intended for police and fleet vehicles used in severe-duty, high-mileage service. It also says vehicles operating under the listed severe-service conditions should follow the supplement’s maintenance guidance. It is a relevant maintenance reference for an ex-fleet car, not a diagnosis of its present condition.

Oil and service reference
The 2014 Charger Owner’s Manual recommends API-certified SAE 5W-20 oil meeting Chrysler Material Standard MS-6395 for both listed engines, and directs owners to verify the correct grade at the oil filler cap. It also specifies Mopar coolant and a Mopar oil filter or equivalent. Confirm the car’s engine and consult its manual and filler-cap information before service.
Will a police console fit your 2014 Charger Pursuit?
Not necessarily. Mopar’s 2014 Charger Pursuit police-upfit catalog category lists a center console kit, power distribution center, trunk tray kit, and other police components. The category is a useful lead for restoration or replacement, but it does not establish universal fitment or current inventory.

Before buying a console or other upfit part, give the parts supplier the VIN and confirm the engine, drivetrain, factory police package, and exact component fitment. The factory feature sheet can help identify package-dependent equipment, but it does not replace a part-specific fitment check. Treat “Pursuit” as a model designation and a clue that the car was configured for police use—not as a complete specification. Make decisions from the vehicle’s documented configuration and observed condition: confirm its engine and fuel variant, establish which factory package it has, check installed equipment, and verify fitment for each replacement part. The model designation alone cannot establish the car’s maintenance history or current mechanical condition.
