Do not assume that every specification published for a nearby model year is confirmed for 2013. For example, Honda’s 2012 specifications list a 70.3-inch wheelbase, 26.9-inch seat height, 90/90-21 front tire, 170/80-15 rear tire and curb weights of 664 lb for the standard version and 679 lb for the ABS version. Does the 2013 Honda Sabre have ABS?
ABS depends on the version. A parts catalog distinguishes the VT1300CSA, VT1300CSAAC (50-state ABS) and VT1300CSAC (California) listings. Honda’s 2012 specifications describe ABS with CBS as optional, but that adjacent-year information does not establish the equipment on a particular 2013 motorcycle. 2013 Honda Sabre oil type and maintenance
The available official owner’s manual is for the 2010 VT1300CS/CSA, not a verified 2013 manual. Its quick reference specifies SAE 10W-30 oil meeting API SG or higher, excluding energy-conserving oils, and JASO T 903 MA. Treat that as guidance from the 2010 manual only; confirm the correct-year manual and the oil container’s specifications before servicing a 2013 bike. The 2010 manual also gives an initial service interval of 600 miles (1,000 km), followed by regular service every 4,000 miles (6,400 km), and calls for unleaded gasoline with pump octane of 86 or higher. Those intervals and fuel specifications are likewise not verified here for 2013. The same manual recommends a pre-ride inspection of tires and wheels, leaks, loose parts, lights, throttle, brakes and indicators; its monthly checks include tires and wheels, fluids, lights, freeplay, fuses, nuts and bolts.
