What is the 2009 FXSTC Softail Custom?
Harley-Davidson identifies the motorcycle as the FXSTC Softail Custom and assigns it model code JL in its 2009 model information. The manufacturer associates the model with a Twin Cam 96B, 1,584 cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected, balanced engine. Those details identify the model; they are not a substitute for checking the VIN and equipment on an individual motorcycle, especially if it has been modified.
Harley-Davidson’s published specifications for the 2009 Softail family give the engine as a two-cylinder, four-cycle, 45-degree V-type with a 95.25 mm bore, 111.25 mm stroke, 1,584 cc displacement and 9.2:1 compression ratio. Which tires fit a 2009 FXSTC?
Harley-Davidson’s 2009 Softail owner’s manual lists the following tire fitment for the FXSTC group:

Where to find the owner’s manual and parts catalog
Harley-Davidson’s 2009 Softail owner’s manual, document 99469-09, covers model identification, specifications, tires, operation and maintenance. Harley-Davidson’s service portal says its documents can be downloaded free of charge. The portal’s manual record shows a publication date of 1 October 2024.
The 2009 Softail parts catalog, document 99455-09B, includes FXSTC in its model information and is intended to help identify and order parts. It is not an assembly or repair-procedure manual; use the owner’s or service documentation appropriate to the job rather than treating the parts catalog as instructions.
