These are historical specifications from Yamaha’s first-edition owner manual, published in September 2005—not current-market figures.
Which model is the 2006 Stratoliner Midnight?
Yamaha’s Midnight parts fiche identifies the 2006 XV1900CTM Stratoliner Midnight as model code XV19CTMV. Its California version is separately identified as XV19CTMVC. The U.S. owner manual covers the broader XV19CT family, including XV19CTSV(C), XV19CTV(C), and XV19CTMV(C), so check the motorcycle’s market and exact model code before ordering parts or choosing repair information. Fuel capacity, weight and carrying limits
The owner manual lists a 17.0 L tank, including a stated 3.0 L reserve, and specifies premium unleaded gasoline only. Its 364.0 kg (802 lb) weight figure is with oil and fuel. The manual sets a maximum combined load of 186 kg (410 lb) for rider, passenger, accessories, and cargo; each sidebag is limited to 5 kg (11 lb).

Yamaha advises distributing cargo evenly and warns that luggage can affect handling when riding above 80 mph (120 km/h). Treat the total-load limit as applying to the combined load, not as a separate allowance for luggage. The available model documentation does not establish current fuel economy or real-world range.
Tires and specified service fluids
Yamaha’s manual specifies tubeless radial tires and cold pressures as follows. Its examples of suitable tire models are Dunlop D251/D251F and Bridgestone G851/G850; verify tire condition, fitment, and the correct specification for the individual motorcycle before replacement.

For engine oil, the manual lists Yamalube 4 (20W-40) or SAE 20W-40 meeting API SE, SF, SG, or higher. It gives 4.10 L without an oil-filter replacement and 4.90 L when replacing the filter. Transfer gear oil is SAE 80 API GL-4 hypoid, with a listed quantity of 0.55 L. Follow the manual’s procedure and checks when servicing; listed capacities are not a substitute for the correct fill and level-check process.

Owner manual
The U.S. owner manual is the source for operating instructions, inspections, warnings, and routine maintenance requirements. Yamaha describes its purpose as giving riders “an understanding of the operation, inspection, and basic maintenance of this motorcycle.” It is a first edition dated September 2005, so use it as documentation for the 2006 model rather than as a statement of current availability or specifications for later bikes.

Factory service manual
A listing describes a 431-page 2006 XV1900 factory service manual covering Stratoliner variants, including XV19CTMV. Before using or buying a service manual, confirm that its national variant and edition match the motorcycle; the listing is not proof of current stock or coverage of every market configuration. The XV1900 service-manual listing identifies fuel injection, belt final drive, five-speed transmission, and brake layout.
Parts identification
For replacement-part lookup, the Midnight parts fiche organizes assemblies such as engine, brakes, transmission, luggage, seat, suspension, and wheels. Confirm the XV19CTMV or XV19CTMVC designation and the specific motorcycle configuration before relying on a listing.
