Which Toyotas last the longest? In iSeeCars’ 2026 analysis, the Toyota Sequoia had the highest estimated chance among Toyota models of reaching 250,000 miles: 42.3%. The Toyota 4Runner and Tundra followed. These are model-level estimates—not promises about any particular vehicle—and they measure high-mileage potential, not every meaning of reliability.
How to read the 250,000-mile estimates
iSeeCars’ 2026 study estimates each model’s probability of reaching at least 250,000 miles. It analyzed data from more than 395 million vehicles; the overall average vehicle had an estimated 5.4% chance. The study excludes heavy-duty vehicles from that overall average. These are population-level probabilities, not the percentage of owners guaranteed to reach the mileage, and they do not predict the fate of a specific car, truck, model year, or maintenance history. The ranking answers a specific question: which models have the strongest estimated odds of reaching exceptionally high mileage? It does not rank repair frequency, owner satisfaction, safety, or maintenance costs. The top entries include several large SUVs and trucks, so the highest percentage is not automatically the right choice for a driver who needs a sedan or a different type of vehicle.
The 10 Toyota models with the strongest estimates
The following are the ten highest Toyota entries in iSeeCars’ 2026 overall model table, ordered by estimated chance of reaching at least 250,000 miles.

All percentages in the table are iSeeCars’ 2026 estimated model-level probabilities of reaching at least 250,000 miles. They should be compared as population estimates, not as guarantees for an individual vehicle.
What stands out across the list
SUVs and pickups lead the ranking
The Sequoia, 4Runner, Tundra, and Tacoma occupy the first four places among Toyota entries. That makes them notable choices to investigate if high-mileage potential is a priority and their size and capabilities suit your needs. It does not mean a truck or large SUV is a better purchase for every driver; match the vehicle type to how you will use it.

Hybrid and non-hybrid entries are distinct
The ranking includes Highlander Hybrid and Avalon Hybrid as separate entries from the Highlander and Avalon, alongside the Prius and Camry Hybrid. The estimates describe those model entries; they do not establish that hybrid or non-hybrid versions are inherently more reliable in every model year or use case.
Long life is not the same as current-model reliability
Consumer Reports’ recent reliability coverage says the Tacoma and Tundra had below-average reliability in the prior year’s survey, while the 2026 Tundra improved to average predicted reliability. That contrast illustrates why a long-term mileage estimate should not be treated as a promise about a current model year: redesigns and model-year changes can affect reliability. What the mileage evidence does—and does not—show
A separate study observed very high-mileage vehicles
An earlier iSeeCars analysis used odometer readings from the highest-mileage examples among more than two million vehicles and noted that those vehicles were still in use. It found that 1% of Toyota Sequoias on the road in that study had at least 296,509 miles. That figure describes the high-mileage tail observed in a separate study; it is not a maximum lifespan and should not be combined with the 2026 probability estimates. The study page also attributes this observation to a different method: iSeeCars’ earlier car-lifespan analysis.
Exceptional examples are anecdotes, not typical outcomes
Toyota’s newsroom documented a 2007 Tundra owned by Victor Sheppard that reached one million miles. Its account said almost every component was functioning, except the driver-side sun-visor detent and odometer. In the earlier iSeeCars lifespan study, Executive Analyst Karl Brauer described the vehicles as “highly-durable vehicles, capable of more than a quarter-million miles of use if properly maintained.” The maintenance condition matters: study results do not remove the importance of a vehicle’s care and condition. How to use the list when choosing a Toyota
- Start with the vehicle you need. Compare within a practical category—sedan, hybrid, SUV, or pickup—rather than choosing solely by the highest percentage.
- Check the specific vehicle. Age, condition, use, maintenance, and model-year changes all matter. A model-level estimate cannot substitute for examining an individual used vehicle and its history.
- Separate longevity from other measures. If you mean “most reliable” as fewer repairs, better predicted reliability for a particular model year, or lower ownership costs, look for evidence that measures that outcome; the 250,000-mile ranking does not answer those questions.
