Harley-Davidson’s most clearly documented patriotic motorcycles are named Liberty and Bicentennial editions, plus anniversary releases tied to American history. The ten examples below span a current 2026 collection and limited historical editions; they are not ten models that are all currently available. The four 2026 Liberty Edition Enthusiast motorcycles share Midnight Ember paint and eagle graphics, while earlier editions mark the 1976 Bicentennial and the 1986 Statue of Liberty restoration campaign.
What makes a Harley-Davidson motorcycle patriotic?
There is no single factory category called “patriotic Harley.” The strongest examples are specific editions whose names, graphics, or launch purpose connect them to U.S. history or liberty. That is distinct from a military-service tribute: Harley-Davidson’s 2022 G.I. Enthusiast collection honored people who served in the U.S. Armed Forces, rather than representing an American flag paint scheme.
The ten entries here are documented model-and-edition examples from different years. The first five are 2026 releases; the remaining five are historical motorcycles, not claims about current dealer inventory.
Four 2026 Liberty Edition Enthusiast motorcycles
Harley-Davidson’s 2026 Liberty Edition Enthusiast Collection comprises four models. Each receives Midnight Ember paint and eagle graphics inspired by earlier Bicentennial and Liberty Editions. Their shared commemorative finish is the point; the manufacturer’s collection announcement does not establish special performance changes relative to standard versions.

Harley-Davidson identifies all four as part of the 2026 collection in its 2026 Enthusiast Collection announcement. The Street Glide 3 Limited is the trike in the group; the others are two-wheel models.
A separate 2026 anniversary release: Super Glide
2026 Super Glide
Harley-Davidson presents the 2026 Super Glide as a serialized limited-edition revival for the United States’ 250th anniversary. The company’s media release sets worldwide production at 2,500 serialized motorcycles. It draws on the original 1971 Super Glide, but it is separate from the four-model Liberty Edition Enthusiast Collection. Historical Liberty editions
1976 Liberty Edition Electra Glide
The Harley-Davidson Museum documents a 1976 Liberty Edition Electra Glide as a Bicentennial motorcycle. Its design used a special paint scheme, vinyl-film decals, an eagle, and the Number One mark. Willie G. Davidson described the eagle in a 1975 letter as “a beautifully drawn and rendered eagle, the symbol of American freedom.” The museum’s account documents this Electra Glide, not a complete list of every 1976 Liberty Edition model; it should not be treated as one. Four 1986 Ride for Liberty models
Harley-Davidson’s 1986 Ride for Liberty campaign produced four named Liberty Edition models. The common treatment included black-and-silver two-tone paint, maroon pinstriping, and Statue of Liberty and “Ride Free” graphics across the bodywork.

- 1986 FLHT Liberty Edition: One of the campaign’s named models, with the shared Ride for Liberty colors and graphics.
- 1986 FLTC Liberty Edition: Another named model. A later Harley-Davidson historical account, citing the company’s July 1986 employee newsletter, calls the FLTC the campaign’s rarest model. That wording describes the campaign-era account, not a count of surviving motorcycles.
- 1986 FXRS Liberty Edition: A third named model, documented with the campaign’s shared paint and graphic treatment.
- 1986 XL-1100 Sportster Liberty Edition: The fourth named model. The same historical account calls it the most popular in the campaign, as reported in the July 1986 employee newsletter; this is not a surviving-population or production-total claim.
Harley-Davidson says $100 from each Ride for Liberty motorcycle sold went to the Statue of Liberty restoration fund. CEO Vaughn Beals described the connection this way: “If there’s a company that should be involved with Liberty’s restoration, it should be us. The Statue is a worldwide symbol of liberty, and motorcycles are one of the strongest expressions of freedom.” The company’s Ride for Liberty history provides the model names, campaign graphics, and reported donation.

2020 Road Glide Special two-tone paint
Harley-Davidson’s archive described two Special Edition Two-Tone Paint options exclusive to the Road Glide Special, with red-and-blue Number One tank graphics. The manufacturer reported a limit of 750 units per colorway in the United States. This was a paint-option release, not one of the Liberty Edition models above. Details are in the company’s 2020 Special Edition paint announcement.

2022 G.I. Enthusiast collection
The G.I. Enthusiast collection honored riders who had served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Harley-Davidson offered the Pan America 1250 Special and Tri Glide Ultra with Mineral Green Denim paint and exclusive graphics. It belongs in the broader story of American-themed editions, but its stated purpose was military-service recognition, not a documented flag design. See the Enthusiast Collection information.

Harley-Davidson’s 2026 accessories catalog lists an American Flag Kit-Saddlebag/Tour-Pak Mount, part 61400789, with a 14-by-11-inch flag. The catalog says it fits specified later Touring models equipped with qualifying hard saddlebags or Tour-Pak luggage; check the exact model year and luggage fitment before buying. The kit is designed for parade use only and will not withstand high-speed riding. The catalog also lists replacement flag part 61400792. These are accessory details, not part of the ten factory editions.

How to read the list
The four 2026 Liberty Edition Enthusiast motorcycles share a commemorative finish across touring, cruiser, and trike formats. The Super Glide is a separate 250th-anniversary limited release. The 1976 and 1986 examples are documented historical editions whose details come from museum and company histories. Those distinctions matter: an edition’s patriotic graphics or purpose do not establish its present availability, price, riding performance, or collector value.
