The ten concepts below are a curated selection—not an official ranking—chosen for visual identity, links to marque heritage, unusual engineering ideas, or significance beyond the game. Some are documented in detail; for others, the official catalogue confirms their place in the series but not enough technical detail to support bigger claims.
What is Vision Gran Turismo?
Launched for Gran Turismo’s 15th anniversary, the project asked manufacturers to imagine an ideal GT for the series. The official Vision Gran Turismo catalogue tracks entries across multiple years and identifies the game titles associated with them. That matters because the catalogue does not establish that every VGT car is available in Gran Turismo 7.
“Coolest” is a matter of taste, so this selection weighs design character, heritage, imaginative engineering and whether a concept also became a physical show car. It is not a claim that all ten were built as road cars, nor a comparison based on common performance tests.
10 standout Vision Gran Turismo concepts
1. Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo
Ferrari’s VGT takes the form of a single-seat virtual racing car, drawing on the marque’s sports-prototype heritage. Its official concept description gives a 1,030 CV engine and three electric motors adding 240 kW. These are concept specifications published by Gran Turismo, not independently tested results or production-car figures. The single-seater layout makes it one of the project’s most direct visions of a purpose-built competition machine.

2. Porsche Vision Gran Turismo
Porsche describes this as its first concept study created specifically for a computer game. The all-electric racing-car premise is paired with manufacturer-published figures of 820 kW peak power, rising to 950 kW with overboost and launch control, and 0–100 km/h in 2.1 seconds. Those are Porsche’s concept data, not independent test measurements. The design’s appeal lies in translating Porsche’s performance identity into a car conceived first for a virtual world.
3. Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo
Bugatti’s entry stands out because it crossed from virtual concept to physical show car. The company presented it at the 2015 Frankfurt motor show and linked its visual identity to Bugatti’s racing history in the 1920s and 1930s. That blend of historical reference and modern concept-car spectacle gives it a rare real-world presence among VGT designs.
4. Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo
The Chaparral 2X is one of the catalogue’s most visually distinctive names, and its Chaparral association gives it a natural place in a list of competition-minded concepts. The official catalogue confirms the entry and its publication date, but the source available here does not establish reliable propulsion details. Its appeal is best judged as a striking design concept rather than through an unverified technical claim.

- 1/18 Diecast Model Car
- Opening front doors, hood and trunk, steerable wheels and rubber tires
- Made of Diecast with some plastic parts
- Great for collection ,gift to your family and friends
5. Mazda LM55 Vision Gran Turismo
The LM55 earns a place as a racing-prototype-inspired entry in Mazda’s VGT story. The official catalogue confirms the car’s identity and series appearance; it does not, by itself, establish detailed design or performance specifications. Its name and concept positioning make it a natural pick for readers drawn to endurance-racing silhouettes.

McLaren’s Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo is a catalogue-confirmed example of the project’s more future-facing side. Its title promises an extreme interpretation, but the official catalogue alone is not enough to support specific claims about layout, power or speed. It belongs here for the role it plays in showing how far a manufacturer can push a virtual design brief.
7. Aston Martin DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo
The DP-100 is Aston Martin’s 2014 entry in the VGT catalogue. It represents the project’s opportunity to recast a luxury-performance marque as a digital concept, though the catalogue listing does not substantiate detailed styling or engineering claims. That distinction is useful: a concept can be notable as an imaginative brand statement without its headline performance being established.
Rank #3
- Brand new box. Real rubber tires. Has steerable wheels. Officially licensed product. Made of diecast with some plastic parts. Has opening hatch and engine compartment. Detailed interior, exterior, engine compartment. Dimensions approximately L-10.5, W-4.75, H-2.5 inches.
8. Toyota FT-1 Vision Gran Turismo
Toyota’s VGT entry connects to the FT-1 sports-car concept. The official catalogue confirms the Vision GT listing, while Toyota’s newsroom documents an FT-1 “Vision GT” race concept made available in Gran Turismo 6. The link between a recognizable sports-car study and a racing-game interpretation makes this a particularly approachable entry for fans following Toyota’s concept work.
9. Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo Coupé
The official catalogue lists the Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo Coupé alongside Roadster and SV relatives, giving the name a broader family within the project. The Coupé is a strong candidate for a modern Jaguar sports-car interpretation, but the catalogue listing alone does not verify individual specifications or design details. Check the specific variant rather than treating the related names as interchangeable.

10. Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Vision Gran Turismo Concept
The X Gran Berlinetta is a recent catalogue-era entry, showing that VGT has continued beyond its earliest wave of concepts. It is worth distinguishing from the later X Gran Racer derivative: the official catalogue’s listing of the concept does not make the two names or vehicles interchangeable. Its inclusion gives this selection a newer endpoint alongside the better-known early entries.
Rank #4
- Die-cast metal body with plastic parts
- Opening doors and engine compartment
- Adjustable seat back on some models
- Full function steering with Four wheel spring suspension
- Detailed chassis with separate exhaust system
How to choose which VGT concept is coolest
The list’s strongest contrasts are not just between shapes, but between what each concept represents. Ferrari and Porsche publish headline engineering figures for their concepts; Bugatti is especially notable for a physical show-car debut; several other selections are best treated as catalogue-confirmed design entries unless a maker’s own announcement is consulted for further detail.
- For a virtual race-car premise: Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo and Porsche Vision Gran Turismo make the most explicit engineering statements in the sources cited here.
- For a concept that reached a show floor: Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo has a documented physical show-car presentation at Frankfurt in 2015.
- For a maker or heritage connection: Ferrari’s prototype lineage, Bugatti’s interwar racing references and Toyota’s FT-1 connection provide distinct points of entry.
- For an evolving catalogue: Genesis X Gran Berlinetta demonstrates that VGT entries continued into a newer generation.
There is no established common test basis, comparable lap-time set or definitive official ranking across these concepts. Manufacturer figures should therefore be read as concept claims, not as a head-to-head performance table.
Where to see or drive Vision Gran Turismo cars
The official VGT catalogue associates entries with particular Gran Turismo games. Check the individual car listing for the title it appeared in; do not assume every concept is included in Gran Turismo 7 or that availability is identical across editions. Porsche’s description also makes clear that its VGT was conceived for a computer game, rather than as a production-car program.
